F-35 from Nellis Air Force Base Crashes in Nevada

An F-35 Lightening aircraft of 57th wing of U.S. Air Force crashed near Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada on March 31, 2026.

The pilot ejected before the crash and suffered minor injuries.

The crashed F-35 aircraft was part of 57th wing which oversees the security of USAF base and installations near Las Vegas.

Nevada is also home to the USAF test and training range that covers 5,000 square miles and over 2.9 million acres of land. The training range is also used in famous Red Flag exercise and offers vast land and airspace to test weapons, tactics and trainings to USAF pilots.
