On 11 October 2025, a N222EX Bell 222 Helicopter owned by dba Nixon Helicopters crashed near Hyatt Regency Hotel in Huntington Beach, California. The helicopter sustained substantial damage but there was no loss of life. Two people onboard the helicopter and three people on the ground sustained injuries when it crashed.
According to the initial reports, the helicopter was on approach when it lost control due to loss of tail-rotor effectiveness (LTE).
The tail rotor detached from the helicopter, which caused helicopter spinning out of control and crashing on the ground.
